VIC Customer Service Award The first port of call for any visitor to Ribble Valley is the Clitheroe Visitor Information Centre based at the Ribble Valley Borough Council Offices in Church Walk, Clitheroe.

The centre is open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday, and offers holiday information, a book-a-bed service for all UK destinations, a free What's On guide, theatre and concert information, bus and train timetables.

It also stocks a wide range of unique gifts and souvenirs, including award-winning handmade jewellery by Precious and hampers containing Lancashire food and drink.

The centre was named best in the North West for customer care following a mystery visit by the North West Development Agency, which formerly oversaw tourism in the region.

Inspectors gave the centre a 100 per cent mark, the highest of the 67 tourist information centres in the North West, including at premier tourism destinations.
